App: Translation Keyboard
Effective: September 3, 2026
Updated: October 8, 2026 (including version 1.3.1)
1. Operator and principle
The operator of this app is the Seller identified on its App Store product page. Translation Keyboard processes text that you enter or select on your device and is designed not to send it to a developer server.
2. Information the developer does not collect
- Keystrokes, source text, or translation results
- Clipboard contents, contacts, location, or conversations from other apps
- Advertising targeting information derived from translation text, images, or histories
The clipboard is read or written only when you choose Copy, Cut, or Paste. The app does not automatically retrieve or monitor clipboard contents, or send them to the developer. These actions require Full Access in the keyboard.
3. Information stored on device
Settings needed to provide the app, such as source and target languages and keyboard appearance, are stored on device. Source text and translations passed between the main app and keyboard for translation are saved temporarily on device. When selected text is replaced, the keyboard also temporarily saves the source text, translation, and information used to check the insertion position in its own storage so the original can be recovered. These records become unavailable after at most 15 minutes. Temporary files are excluded from OS backups. Files saved by earlier versions receive the same exclusion when they are read.
To check purchase and trial status, the app saves Apple-signed transaction information and on-device time records used to determine the trial's start, expiry, and elapsed time. These records contain no source text or translations. The developer has no server that retains source text, translations, or translation history.
Screen translation
Apple's on-device text recognition and translation process the selected region of a screenshot supplied by a shortcut you run. The app does not record the screen, capture screen content continuously, or process audio.
Screenshots are held temporarily in memory to check the region and translate it. This app does not save images to Photos or translation history. Original screenshots and input data managed by Shortcuts remain subject to their respective apps and the OS. Region coordinates, image aspect ratio, and source and target languages are saved on device for your next capture.
Each capture has its own history containing source text, translated text, and capture time. Folder names and history organization are also saved on device. Histories are excluded from backup and are not sent off device. Existing translation histories are preserved. Storage is limited to 100 histories, 500 entries per history, and 8 MB overall; reaching a limit displays an error without automatically deleting older histories.
4. Standard iOS dictation
Versions without the dedicated voice-drafting screen do not use the microphone or record audio. To enter text by speaking, use dictation on the standard iOS keyboard. Dictation processing and data handling follow your iOS settings and Apple's policies. This app works with the finished text you choose to translate.
Older versions with the dedicated voice-drafting screen use the microphone only when a person with an active trial or Pro starts recording in the main app. Apple's on-device speech recognition converts audio to text; recorded audio is not saved to a file or sent to an external server. You can revoke microphone permission in iOS Settings.
5. Full Access
Ordinary typing and direct keyboard translation, including the free version, do not require Full Access. Reading an already saved trial or purchase status does not require it either. Full Access is used to share language settings and to let the keyboard write translation requests and exchange text you choose with the main app. When it is off, the keyboard uses its locally saved language settings and saves trial-time records in its own on-device storage. It is not used to collect input, advertise, or track you. You can disable Full Access in iOS Settings at any time.
6. Free use, one-time Pro, trials, and restoration
In 1.3.0, unpurchased translation features support up to 150 source characters per request and a combined 5 successful keyboard and screen translations per day. Typing, copying, failures and cancellation do not consume uses. With Full Access off, the keyboard uses a separate local 5/day and cannot share bonuses from the main app. Source text is never truncated to meet the limit. Ordinary typing, draft editing and recovery, and saved histories remain available. In version 1.2, free translation supports 500 source characters per request without a daily count limit.
Keyboard Pro and Screen Pro in 1.3.0 are separate one-time purchases. Purchased features support 10,000 characters per request without daily limits; any valid paid purchase removes ads throughout the app. Previous paid Pro, standalone, add-on and bundle entitlements retain both Pro features at no extra charge. Free trials do not become permanent purchases. Apple's purchase screen shows the price before purchase. The App Store handles purchases and restoration; the developer does not receive payment-card information. Ads are not requested while purchase status is being checked, restoration fails, or entitlement status is unknown.
A 14-day trial retains both features; an existing 7-day screen-only trial retains its original feature and expiry. Expiry is based on the original Apple-signed transaction and on-device elapsed-time records. Restoration with the same Apple Account does not restart a trial. Trials do not charge or renew automatically. Paid entitlements remain after expiry, and unpurchased features return to Free. Confirmed refund or revocation of the last paid entitlement also returns access to Free while preserving source text and saved histories.
7. Advertising and Google's data handling
From 1.2.1 onward, eligible banners may appear on Home, How to use and the screenshot introduction in the main app. A frequency-limited interstitial may appear when you choose to return Home after a completed manual task. Version 1.2.0 has only the How to use banner. Translation does not trigger an ad every time. There are no ads in the keyboard extension, input, region selection, translation or result review, history, Shortcuts processing, setup, permission guidance, purchases, restoration or code redemption. Valid paid entitlements and active trials remove ads. Typed text, source text, translations, images, history, clipboard, drafts and purchase transaction IDs are not passed to advertising APIs.
In 1.3.1, completing an optional rewarded ad earns 5 additional uses for today. The combined unspent basic and additional balance is capped at 30; a refill is possible when no more than 25 remain. After consuming uses, another refill is possible the same day, without a daily claim-count limit. The 150-character limit remains. Cancelling before earning grants no uses; closing the ad after earning does not revoke the reward. Additional uses expire that day. The date, balance and records preventing duplicate claims or use are stored on device. People with a currently verified paid or active-trial ad exemption can obtain the same finite 5-use refill without an ad for unpurchased features. Ordinary Free users receive no unconditional ad-free refill. In the current 1.3.1 update candidate, rewarded refills are paused until the non-tracking configuration is verified, for every ATT response. Ordinary free use remains 5/day.
The optional long-image allowance in 1.2.1 is the previous feature for manually selected screenshots of 501–10,000 characters, up to 3 images per local device day. The same allowance is available when ads are unavailable. The image, language pair and one-image grant are held only in memory. An image may remain in memory during backgrounding for a failed-translation retry, but is not saved to Photos, history or a file. A grant does not carry over after changing the image, region or languages, or after the app process ends. Version 1.3.0 replaced this previous allowance with 10 additional uses per claim, up to 3 claims/day, including an ad-free route. Version 1.3.1 changes that refill policy as described above.
Checking advertising delivery settings and Google's advertising services involves network communication. Google discloses that its SDK handles information such as IP addresses, device identifiers, diagnostics, and ad impressions and interactions. On-device translation does not mean the advertising SDK processes no data. The containing app with the SDK is not described as collecting no data. See Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob's data disclosures for Google's handling, retention, and deletion procedures.
The configuration disables ad personalization and publisher first-party ID, signals restricted data processing to Google, and requests the general-audience ad-content ceiling. These settings alone do not establish that identifiers are not processed or that tracking never occurs. The advertising SDK starts after required regional checks, advertising consent and authorization through iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT). New ads are not requested if tracking is not authorized or permission is revoked in iOS Settings. ATT explains possible use of the device advertising identifier for ad delivery and measurement. Permission is optional and does not change translation functionality, ordinary Free limits or prices. An already presented full-screen ad can be ended using its own close controls.
Version 1.3.1 removes custom age-category input and does not save unknown age as adult. In applicable regions, it checks Apple's age-band sharing and significant-update notification or parental approval. Translation starts are held until legally required checks are completed, including for Pro and trial users. These checks are separate from advertising consent and ATT; being a minor alone does not prohibit this 4+ translation utility. Purchase, restoration and Privacy entry points remain available. Birth dates and age-band values are not persisted. Regional workflow status, update identifiers, required parental-request identifiers and update descriptions, and advertising-restriction status are stored on device. Age bands outside the advertising audience, and missing required advertising checks or sharing, prevent ad requests. A previous saved choice to prevent advertising remains protected. Refusing advertising consent or ATT, or an ad failing to load, does not change the ordinary Free allowance or prices.
Google User Messaging Platform presents required consent forms. When a privacy-options entry point is required, Change advertising consent appears in Privacy in the main app. Home and How to use link to the same Privacy screen. Consent changes do not require a purchase state, ATT permission or successful age sharing. Advertising information and reporting of inappropriate ads also remain available. If a change fails, advertising stays stopped while retry and support options are offered. Changing consent does not erase translated text or purchase entitlements. Apple's services handle purchases, restoration, and language-data downloads; Apple's Privacy Policy governs Apple's handling.
8. Retention, deletion, and withdrawing permission
Temporary data exchanged between the main app and keyboard becomes unavailable after its expiry time, which is at most 15 minutes after creation. Files are not erased by a timer at that exact moment while the device is inactive. They are deleted when the app or keyboard next checks the expired data, or as part of actions such as importing or discarding it. A source-text recovery record may remain after the source is restored to a draft, until it is explicitly discarded or its expiry is checked.
The 15-minute expiry does not apply to saved screen-translation histories. They remain after you leave the screen and can be deleted individually or together from Saved History. Deletion removes the source text, translations, times, and related records saved by this app; it does not change the source screen or chats in other apps.
You can change settings in the app. iOS manages removal of app storage when the app is deleted. Offloading an app keeps its data and is different from deleting it. The developer does not store source text, translations, or translation histories on a translation server and does not create user accounts. Retention and deletion of advertising-service data follow Google's policies. You can withdraw Full Access permission in iOS Settings. Apple manages App Store purchase history under its own policies.
9. Changes
If app features or data handling change, this page will be updated and, when appropriate, notice will also be provided in the app.
